A weblog covering, amongst other things: Notre Dame sports, poker, music and Apple Computer. Posts are certainly not limited to these subjects. To answer my most frequent question: I am not interested in selling this domain name unless you want to make an offer in excess of six figures. Then we can talk. |

It does take the sting out of it... Lloyd Carr is a good coach. The fans are going to have his head on a pike tomorrow.
Three questions:
1. Why only three passes in the first half? Was Bob Davie calling the plays?
2. Where the hell was the pass protection? Do we not do that now?
3. Did you see the Cal game tonight? It was a frickin' track meet. Tedford has to abide by academic standards too; why can't Weis get similar talent? What about all these "top 10 recruiting classes" we keep getting? Cal never has such highly-rated recruits.
CW's looking a lot less like a robot genius to me, and more like someone slightly out-of-touch with reality.

Our Freshmen and Sophomoress are very, very talented. But we have seven (7) scholarship seniors, and our Junior class, while good, is small.
It's hard to open against a good team with so few experienced players on the field. This year is us paying the piper for Willingham's lack of recruiting -- next year is the real test for Charlie.
That said, I expected more from the team today, and still expect a very big improvement next week.
My biggest disappointment today was the poor play from the offensive line, but that's been a constant since about 1997. We may need to look into a coaching change there.
As for the playcalling, we did call more than three passes in the first half, it just didn't seem like it since most of them ended up as fumbles, sacks or scrambles. Someone needs to let the O-Line know that they're supposed to block those guys, not wave them by.
