Someone on an ND board I read pointed out that if the NCAA had imposed the scholarship sanctions that Willingham's incompetence imposed on Notre Dame it would rank below only the SMU death penalty as the harshest penalty in the history of college football.
The NCAA allows 85 scholarship football players, last year we had 70, this year 76.
So don't believe any of the soon to arrive media hysteria that ND strugglng this year proves that we only fired Willingham because he was black.
